BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Michael C. Moreland
Michael has been a professional media creator for over 20 years, serving as producer, director, writer, and editor on commercial and corporate media projects, and narrative and documentary films. Having a great passion for the Catholic faith, he has also created projects to support and promote the work of Catholic organizations. In truly seeking to follow God’s will, Michael initiated the formation of Veritatis Media in order to sustain and broaden this mission.
Previously, Michael was a founding partner in a digital marketing agency, a business consulting group, and an import/export company. Michael also currently runs a commercial media production and marketing agency, Ocellaris Creative.
Michael, his wife Shelly, and their three boys are parishoners at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, Michigan.
Since 2016, Stephen has served as the Executive Director of Legatus. Before becoming Executive Director, he was based in Dallas, Texas as the Central Regional Director. In that capacity, he managed 22 existing chapters and developed five new chapters.
Prior to Legatus, Stephen attended Ave Maria University while serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. In 2006, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Stephen graduated from Ave Maria University with a BA in Politics and then remained at Ave Maria until 2013, serving as the Director of Security.
Stephen lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, Krista, and his five awesome kids.
Bob is Senior Vice President of Schwartz Investment Counsel, Inc. The firm is the investment adviser that founded and manages the Ave Maria Mutual Funds. Bob serves as co-manager of the Ave Maria World Equity Fund and a portfolio manager for select private clients. Bob joined Schwartz Investment Counsel, Inc. in 2001.
Bob has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. Bob is a CFP® professional.
Bob and his wife Michelle have three children and are parishioners at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, Michigan. Both Bob and Michelle have been active in a variety of Catholic organizations, boards, committees and ministries.
Samuel J. Kain
Sam is the Chief Financial Officer for Jefferson East, Inc. and East Jefferson Development Company. He has been in a CFO role for over twenty years in technology, consulting, construction, payment solutions, and real estate companies. In addition, Sam is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor, and a licensed Real Estate Salesperson.
Sam’s thirty-five plus years of experience in different industries, including consulting services, software development and sales, real estate development and construction, and manufacturing, have given him valuable experience that is applicable across a variety of businesses. Additionally, for the past seven years, he has taught accounting, finance, and economics at four local colleges, including Madonna University, Walsh College and Lawrence Technological University.
Msgr Ronald Browne
Since 2015, Monsignor Ronald Browne has served as Judicial Vicar on the Metropolitan Tribunal for the Archdiocese of Detroit. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Episcopal Delegate for the directed miracle investigation in the Cause of Beatification of Father Solanus Casey (Archdiocese of Detroit). From 2010 to 2013, Monsignor was the Episcopal Delegate for the directed miracle investigation in the Cause of Beatification of Bishop Frederick Baraga (Diocese of Marquette). From 2009 to 2013, he was Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Marquette, MI.
From 2013 to present, Monsignor has served as Chaplain at St. Elizabeth Briarbank Assisted Living Home for Senior Ladies operated by the Daughters of Divine Charity in Bloomfield Hills, MI, as Chaplain of the Oakland County Latin Mass Association, spiritually advising the Association and celebrating the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (Pre-Vatican II Latin Mass) every Sunday in Bloomfield Hills, MI, and as Weekend Associate Pastor at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish in Beverly Hills, MI.
Monsignor Browne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and English Literature from Mercy College in Detroit, a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, a Masters of Divinity degree from St. John Provincial Seminary at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit,
and a Juris Canonici Licentiatus degree (License in Canon Law) from The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in the City of Rome, Rome, Italy.
Monsignor was born and raised in northwest Detroit and is a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Fellowship of Catholic Scholars, Canon Law Society of America, The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, and the State Bar of Michigan.
